워드프레스 기반의 웹사이트를 다시 워드프레스로 리뉴얼하는 프로젝트를 매우 선호합니다. 기존 사이트 분석이 용이하고 또 개선의 효과가 명확하기 때문입니다. 그리고 워드프레스 교육에 많은 시간을 할애하지 않아도 됩니다.

하지만 최근 진행한 몇 개의 워드프레스 리뉴얼 프로젝트는 악몽과도 같았습니다. 같은 워드프레스 기반의 웹사이트이지만 제작 방식이 크리에이티브밴드가 해왔던 것과는 너무나 달랐기 때문입니다.

물론 정답이 있는 것은 아닙니다. 하지만 워드프레스의 기본 구조나 흐름 또는 패턴을 무시해서는 안됩니다. 워드프레스 스탠다드를 알고 이를 잘 지킬 필요가 있습니다.

하나의 포스트를 구성하는 포스트타입, 택소노미(분류체계), 커스텀 필드 등을 제대로 이해하고 전체 구조를 설계할 필요가 있습니다.

이 외에도 사이트의 모든 기능을 테마에서 구현해서는 안됩니다. 별도의 플러그인을 생성하여 기능만 구현해야 합니다. 다른 어떤 테마로 변경되더라도 사이트가 정상 작동할 수 있어야 하기 때문입니다.

올바른 HTML 태그를 사용하여 콘텐츠를 생성해야 합니다. HTML 태그는 기계와 인간이 커뮤니케이션 할 수 있는 가장 기초적인 수단입니다. 목적에 맞게 그 쓰임이 정해져 있는 태그를 올바로 사용하는 것은 매우 중요합니다.
